About Me

Hi! My name is Jess, and I am the owner and head practitioner at Brighter Minds Counselling. I have many years experience working with children and youth in the mental health field. I am passionate about working with young people and have a strong desire to help improve the mental health and well-being of young people in our community.

I am a local to the Wide Bay area, and happy to provide services to clients both in and around Bundaberg, as well as offering Telehealth sessions. My practicing history includes working in private practice and non-government organisations, liaising with the youth justice system, child safety, mental health units, housing, education facilities and alternative therapies (including equine therapy, play therapy, social skill building, art therapy and more!). After completing my schooling years in Bundaberg, I graduated with a Bachelor of Psychological Science [Central Queensland University] before completing a Bachelor of Science (Counselling) [University of Southern Queensland] and a Graduate Diploma of Counselling (specialising in Child, Youth and Family Therapies) [University of Southern Queensland]. Each year I undergo large amounts of professional development to help expand my skill set.

My practicing days this year are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as I enjoy spending time with my family, and our furry and feathered friends at home!

I appreciate you taking the time to visit our website and I look forward to supporting young people and their families at Brighter Minds Counselling.
